Thanks to the No Child Left Behind Act, signed into law by President George W. Bush on January 8th, 2002, the federal government had gained unprecedented control over the curriculum in schools across every state. Little did the states realize that by surrendering their curriculum autonomy in exchange for federal dollars, they were yielding something far more insidious—freedom of thought itself, now centralized under a growing federal thought police. Under the guise of “increasing accountability” in education, the federal government now had the power to dictate not only educational standards but nationwide morals, thoughts, and...hidden agendas.
